FAQs about hotels in Menton

Sun, Colours and Lemon Aromas

Known as ‘The Pearl of France’, the city of Menton is located on the French Riviera near the Italian border. Overlooking the blue Mediterranean waters, this destination has colourful houses with red roofs, golden beaches and a harbour with fishing boats and yachts.

Built by the architect Laurent Lavagna, the 17th century Basilica of Saint-Michel-Archange is a historic Baroque-style church with an imposing belltower. Home to the Jean Cocteau Museum, the 17th century Bastion was once a defensive fort. Today, this museum hosts a great collection of ceramics and a unique mosaic.

Wander around the pedestrian streets of the old town, relax in a traditional cafe or discover the green gardens of the city, including the Jardin Serre de la Madone and the Botanical Garden.

Thanks to its mild climate, Menton is a great place for citrus trees to grow. During the annual Lemon Festival, visitors will have the chance to admire the huge composition of oranges and lemons.

The railway station of Menton-Garavan has regular connections with the cities of Cannes, Nice and Ventimiglia. Booking.com will help you find a hotel, apartment or resort in Menton and the gorgeous Côte d'Azur.

I went for the Citrus Festival which was well managed and a visual delight. Menton is a lovely city anway but a-buzz due to the festival. As its close to Italian boarded its and easy day trip on the train or the other way into Monaco, Antibes, Nice etc. Market outstanding ideal if you have your own cooking facitliaties. If you like gardens the Botanical gardens worth the walk. Menton is one of my favourite French places, you will not be dissapointed.

We went there for the "FETE DU CITRON" with the children (8 and 3 yrs old) and it was super. The events were very nice; just a suggestion for the parades: book in advance the seats. The old city is very nice for walks. Lots of playgrounds for children .

We loved Menton! It is a great walking town. Beautiful views, wonderful foods. We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed everything. We drove to Italy for lunch. It was so easy to navigate. Drivers are more patient than in the U.S., and it was so nice to drive without stress. The service was great at every restaurant and shop we visited. We had a view of the mediterranian sea from our balcony at the Vacances Blue Royal Westminster. They were great. We want to move to Menton!!

A small quaint town by the sea. It was good that I visited in November end which is probably peak off season. I can imagine that during season it can get quite crowded which will then not be as nice. The weather was excellent. being off season, the majority of the restaurants were closed. The restaurants all seem to be quite pricey though.

Menton is a very charming and beautiful city, very walkable with much to see and do. From museums, shops, restaurants and food emporiums promoting local products. I would recommend it for a visit and it's close proximity to Italy just across the border is also a plus.

The hotel has a very Parisian style to it and is well located, with an amazing view of the port and 5 min away from Menton beaches, 15min walking distance from the old town. The staff was very welcoming and helpful and I felt at home from day 1. I would like to give a special thanks to the director of the hotel who personally took care of me while I had to go to the ER on my first night there and made sure I was comfortable during my stay. Thank you again.

Hotel was immaculate. Very, very clean and tidy. Room was a good size with a fantastic balcany overlooking the sea. Some reviews say the road is noisy, but the sea makes more noise than the road. Bathroom was clean and tidy and housekeeping was excellent. The free coffee and cake was a nice touch throughout the day as was the complimentary mini bar. Menton was a 15-20 min walk down the coast, Carnoles station was 13 min walk the other direction.

Nice comfortable and safe little hotel close to train station and beach. Very walkable . I found that the local Menton business to either be helpful and accepting or not helpful to non EU tourists. The Travel Information office only wanted to share information on Menton and discourage me from leaving to go to other towns or villages until I spent 4-5 days in Menton. There isn't enough to do in this town for that amount of time.

Nice hotel which fits the city's style - located in the center of Menton. I really enjoyed the garden which separated the hotel from the city. All attractions, restaurants, beach, etc are reachable by a short walk. Private parking at the hotel cost 8 EUR and was easy to use. You get a dedicated parking spot (covered). Staff was nice and helpful. Tip: Get a take-away pizza and enjoy it in the harbor of Menton at sunset.

The room was clean and as described on the website and the breakfast was great. It’s right next to the beach and in the heart of Menton. The hotel reached out and inquire about our bed preference and based on our response upgraded us to a room with queen sized bed and a balcony. The reception staffs were all wonderful! When we checked out and had to leave a bottle of wine with them, they went out of their way to take care of our wine and all 5 of our bags. It is located centrally and one can use it to access what Menton has to offer.

It is clear that the management and staff take great pride in this hotel. It is incredibly well maintained, clean, professional and comfortable. The room had everything we needed and the bed was very comfortable. Hotel Chambord is centrally located overlooking the main avenue, and we watched the preparations for Menton's citrus festival in a couple of weeks.

The hotel was lovely and very cozy. I travel to Menton off season frequently, and stay in different hotels every time. Many of the hotels feel like they are very much geared to the summer season and don't have a lot of warmth to them (linoleum floors etc). Hotel de Londres had a nice cozy feel to it, which I appreciated in early March!

Booked the hotel specifically to get a sea view room with balcony, which is just what we got. A larger balcony than expected with views to Old Menton on one side and over to Italy on the other. It did overlook a busy road and a public leisure area (as expected ). The room was spacious and very nicely presented.
